This June, DePaul University's Arditti Center for Risk Management is hosting a two-day executive risk leadership program led by Dr. Mark Frigo, Director of the Center for Strategy, Execution and Valuation, and Director of the Strategic Risk Management Lab in the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business; and Steve Lindo, an industry expert and educator with more than 20 years of risk management practice in the U.S. and internationally. The program—offered with both one and two day options—will be held Friday, June 13, 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, June 14, 2014, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
DePaul recently held a Risk Conference at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and one of the major themes was a rising need for greater board engagement and education in risk management. This program offers a unique combination of the following elements:
• Participants drawn from non-executive board directors, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Managing Directors, Corporate Treasurers, Executive Vice Presidents, Heads of Internal Audit and Public Pension Fund Trustees, across multiple industry sectors
• Interactive learning environment involving cases studies, small-group discussions and keynote speakers
• Dennis Chookaszian, former CEO of CNA Insurance and award-winning board member (Financial Times award), will be the featured dinner keynote speaker on “Risk Management and Leadership.”
The program will focus on critical areas of risk management strategy and decision-making, aiming to provide a deeper understanding and essential skills in risk management leadership practices, which have been field-tested across multiple industry sectors. Participants will learn strategies that senior leaders of large and/or complex public or private organizations need to employ, and the infrastructure necessary to support them in order to ensure effective risk management of high-stakes business decisions and a self-sustaining, firm-wide risk management culture. In addition, they will recognize how superior risk management leadership is key to sustained profitability, and how their organization may be negatively impacted if the necessary strategies and infrastructure are lacking.
Details of the program, as well as instructor and keynote speaker bios can be found on the Arditti website (http://go.depaul.edu/arditti), along with registration links. Both one day and two day program options are available. The number of participants will be limited, to ensure maximum interaction.
