New YORK, New Jersey, Connecticut, Jan 20, 2012 -- Today's web-enabled customers have taken control of their buying process, researching online before speaking with a salesperson. These buyers are more savvy and wary of marketing hype. As a result, marketing is evolving from a one-way "push" model into a two-way engagement model. Marketers must now demonstrate value and build trust by educating prospects throughout their buying journey. However, this new era of marketing is still evolving. Many marketers struggle to grasp the new concepts, terms and methodologies that make up the new marketing landscape in an effort to meet customer need.

There is now a great deal of controversy on the web regarding the roles of inbound marketing and content marketing as part of the overall marketing process. How do one define them? How do they relate to one another? How does one use them to drive revenue?

On January 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM EST, these and other questions will be addressed in The Great Marketing Conversation a one-hour web event sponsored by DemandGen Report.

Candyce Edelen, CEO of Propelgrowth will be moderating a panel of the foremost experts and thought leaders in marketing to discuss how content marketing and inbound marketing can help drive revenue. On the panel will be:

  • Ardath Albee – Speaker and Author of eMarketing Strategies for the Complex Sale (@ardath421)
  • Mike Volpe – Chief Marketing Officer, HubSpot (@mvolpe)
  • Robert Rose – Author and Strategist-In-Residence, Content Marketing Institute (@Robert_Rose)
  • Marcus Sheridan – Speaker and blogger, The Sales Lion (@TheSalesLion)

Each panelist is a well-known expert and brings a unique as well as passionate perspective to the conversation -- a recipe for lively discussion. A question and answer session will follow. For anyone seeking to build a solid business case for implementing current marketing techniques, this will be an opportunity to learn from and engage with key marketing thought leaders.

From the Classroom to the Trading Floor

There is no single, clearly defined education path for entering the derivatives industry as professionals come from a range of academic backgrounds. Still, higher education plays a crucial role in preparing students for success in this complex and fast-evolving field. A strong foundation in finance, economics, and mathematics is essential. At the undergraduate level, students should prioritize courses in financial markets and institutions, investment analysis, corporate finance, and introductory derivatives. Just as important are courses in statistics and calculus, which help build the analytical and quantitative skills required for understanding pricing models, volatility, and risk management strategies. With the increasing reliance on algorithmic trading and quantitative research, a concentration or minor in applied mathematics, data science, or computer programming can...
