Let George Do It!

For more than 30 years the NFA has developed programs that safeguard market integrity, protect investors. At times our organization has been visionary in its pursuit of appropriate regulations and services.  As your new Board Member, I endeavor to maintain and enhance this effort.

Certainly the confidence of investors is critical to the success and growth of our markets. The most effective is to create and maintain the highest levels of integrity of all market participants.

Vision

I have served on many profit and nonprofit boards, from corporate endeavors, to college, and philanthropic organizations.  As an effective board member, I have joined others in creating the appropriate strategies and environment for the betterment of the organization.  I believe it is the essential duty of a board member not to micromanage an organization, but to assist in creating the correct policies and strategies.  The NFA looks to the board for leadership and counsel: Providing the appropriate vision is essential

Experience

I have been CEO and served on the Boards of a broad range of institutions, both profit and non-profit, from small to larger industrial businesses, to financial companies, from college trusteeships, to major roles in charitable fund-raising.  Organizations large and small look to the experience of the Board to guide them in their endeavors.  My experience includes the following:

President of The Devon Group, Inc., a CTA and CPO.  Founder and CEO of several companies, including Charleswater Products, Xytest, Syon, Adhesivesmart.com, Genigma Corporation, The Performance Center and successfully exited by sale to Armstrong World Industries and ITW, as well as private funds.  Author of over twenty publications in technical journals relating to electronics, ESD control, adhesives, and industrial applications of ionizing radiation.  Over fifty presentations and author of fifteen U.S. and foreign patents.  Currently, Chairman, Bay Colony Development Corporation, one the largest SBA 504 lenders in the country;  Board of ErShares, a mutual fund, and Trustee of Olin College of Engineering.  Previously Overseer of WGBH Public Television, and board member of the New Rep Theatre. Past affiliations have included chairman of the NE Chapter of the MS Society, International Board of Governors-Technion, Haifa, Israel,

I am a graduate of M.I.T, M.S. and B.S. Chemical Engineering, National Merit Scholar, Sigma Xi Honorary.

I believe my past experience is most appropriate for the NFA.

Competence

The NFA board is asked to set policy and direction.  My past broad experience in a number of industries outside of the derivatives market will provide a fresh insight into regulatory affairs.  In a broad and yet directed sense, I have the unique background to assist the NFA members at the Board level.

So, I suggest to you when you consider the past and the future role of the NFA, I respectfully ask that you vote for me as a new Board member.
